Request to obtain a corporate trustee licence
Checklist
In accordance with Sections 18 to 26 (inclusive) of Directive No. 13R3, Licensing Directive, a request to obtain a corporate trustee licence should entail a written request for pre-approval of the name submitted to the Licensing Section of the OSB.

- a name derived from the name of an accounting firm;

- Once the name has been pre-approved
- Fill in Form 3;
- Make sure that Articles of Incorporation include the objects of the Corporation (S. 21 of the Licensing Directive) and state how the corporation is a private or close company (S. 23 of the Licensing Directive);
- Make sure that the by-laws and the shareholders register do comply with provisions of the Licensing Directive dealing with Directors and Officers (S. 22) and those dealing with shareholders (S. 24 and 25).
- If the trustee leaves an established firm
- Estate Conciliation – please choose the situation which applies to you:
- Transferring files to another trustee within the firm (name of the trustee);
- Trustee keeping files (substitution).
