Report Body

The report body presents the requested data in tabular format.

The time periods (years or months) appear vertically in columns, while the geographic information appears horizontally in rows.

A sub-total is displayed for the selected geographic areas as well as the total for all countries. The balance for other geographic areas not selected will be shown as "others".

When a geographic group is selected, the countries in the group will be listed (even where there is no trade) in full in vertical fashion provided you have chosen the group (Detailed) selection. Choose the group (Total) if you only want to display the summed values for the countries in the group.

When more than one specific industry is chosen, the data for each can be shown individually in sequential fashion.

The report body may contain hyperlinked geographic selections. Clicking on these displays detail for the U.S. states or for the countries in a pre-defined geographic group.

Caution:

  1. When the TOP 10 COUNTRIES is selected with multiple industry selections shown individually, the determination of the top countries is made on the combined totals for all the industries together.
  2. When "Distribution by Province" is selected as the trader, the report body will always show a provincial breakdown, no matter what the trading partner selection is. However, the numbers will reflect the choice of trading partner made. In this case only, the same results will be obtained for country groups whether the (Total) or (Detailed) selection is made.

An example of a simple report is shown below:

  1997 1998 1999 2000 2001
Japan 4,463 5,004 5,745 6,443 6,100

OTHERS 17,364 18,843 19,102 21,397 22,187
